A Time of Karmic Readjustment
Wednesday, April 4th, 2012
Our planet is entering a very karmic time for relationships, especially intimate, karmic relationships. Starting now and for the next 3 months, we will have a Venus retrograde and 2 eclipses, all in Gemini.
Venus in retrograde motion is supposed to mean that our love lives enter a fated period where we may relive past life experiences in order to sort out karmic issues.
Venus Retrograde 2012
11 April 2012
15 May 2012
27 June 2012
31 July 2012
Venus enters retrograde zone at 7° Gemini.
Venus stationary retrograde at 24° Gemini.
Venus stationary direct at 7° Gemini.
Venus leaves retrograde zone at 24° Gemini.
According to Dark Star Astrology (http://darkstarastrology.com/venus-retrograde/), the overall vibe for the whole retrograde cycle has a very karmic feel which fits nicely with the traditional concept of retrograde planets. This karmic feel comes from Venus conjunct the South Node of the Moon by a mere five minutes.
This suggests that our love lives really will go through a period of reliving past love life experiences. The South Node also indicates that some of our more negative habits or attitudes about love and relationships will be brought to light, and the more troubling aspects of our relationships will be highlighted.
It can also mean that we run into old friends and lovers again, from this life and past lives. Any new relationships formed during the next few months will likely be past life connections, we will get that feeling of having known them before. The aim of all this is to resolve painful karmic memories. This is because the other very tight aspect is Venus square Chiron, we are being forced to face our inner pain in relation to love, the pain of being dumped or humiliated by infidelity, or the karmic pain caused by doing this to others.
Venus square Chiron means we are forced, through events and through relationships, to face the pain of the past. By doing so, the difficult work of healing the pain can begin, this is the nature of Chiron, wounding to heal.
A Venus trine to Saturn suggests progress in this next phase of the retrograde cycle, through to the direct station on June 27. More understanding, more commitment. Commitment to long term relationships seems very important here, that is the message from this aspect, and the fixed stars have been pointing to the pain resulting from infidelity. Saturn on the most fortunate of stars Spica, is “favorable for domestic matters.”
The path leads to healing and transformation through open communication. This is shown by the grand trine with Mercury, Mars and Pluto. Venus conjunct Mercury on the 1st of June at 8 Gemini really puts the focus on communication in relationships. This will likely climax around July 5 with Venus at 8 degrees Gemini sextile Uranus, an aspect pattern which uncovers secrets. There is the possibility of unexpected news, new information which leads to higher awareness and breakthroughs.
On June 5 we get Venus square Mars, feelings should be intense, with a mixture of love and hate, sexual passion and desire. There may be some conflict, but Venus on the fixed star Rigel is more supportive of love rather than hate, Venus on this star gives a “good and influential marriage especially if female.”
Venus sextile Uranus is within one degree orb from June 18 to July 8. This is very fortunate and suggests major breakthroughs in those relationship issues which have been causing problems. The first exact sextile is on June 21.
We will continue to work on these issues well into next year. This is because Venus entered the shadow zone, and stationed direct at 7 degrees Gemini, and the lunar eclipse on 28 November 2012 is also at 7 degrees Gemini, and lunar eclipses do put a focus on our relationships.
It starts with confronting the karmic pain, the deep wound in the soul memory of being abandoned, betrayed or rejected. Venus is trine Saturn meaning the end result is maturity and wisdom from having dealt seriously with the issues and any guilt or shame is lifted.
Venus retrograde in 2012 is intense, a transit of Venus, an eclipse, Uranus square Pluto, and all those major fixed stars with an emphasis on love relationships.
For me, it means, let go, surrender, be with myself in the here and now, take care of meeting my own needs and desires. I have to be at peace with that.
Recently I was meditating, trying to find out what was deep inside me that was causing me to continue feeling sadness and anger around a particular man in my life. I was sitting with pen and paper in my lap so I’d be able to write the insights as soon as they came.
I sat with that for a while, then I wrote, “He can’t be the solution.” As I was putting the period at the end of that sentence my phone rang. It was him.
The lesson I have to learn is that I can’t manipulate him into making me feel safe.
I may be writhing in excrutiating pain at times over the next 3 months… if I’m not willing to take 100% responsibility and learn my karmic lessons. (I’m actually feeling a bit nervous about it.) But when I get to the other side, I know it will be worth it. If I go through this initiation and alchemize my karma, I will empower myself. If I don’t, I may not get another chance in this lifetime.
Remember this post in 3 months….. we’ll see how we look on the other side

Venus, the Warrior, & the Magician: The Next Jupiter-Pluto Trine
Tuesday, October 25th, 2011
This picture is so cool, I just had to keep it at maximum size so you can see it clearly. This month, we’ll see Venus sextile Pluto, then oppose Jupiter, which is like the two benefic planets injecting each other with their energy, and then the Jupiter-Pluto trine in Earth signs just two days after the New Moon. I wanted a story that would help you understand this cosmic interplay.
Since Jupiter and Pluto are in Earth signs, focus on earthy things: money, material wealth, physical health, strength, and energy. Jupiter is the planet of expansion and Pluto is the planet of wealth and power. Jupiter-Pluto trine in Earth signs means an easy expansion of material wealth and power.
Jupiter is the Magician. Pluto is the Warrior. Venus is the goddess of love, passion, and sensuality.
Death & Rebirth: The October 26th New Moon
Saturday, October 8th, 2011
The experience of Death & Rebirth takes one deep into the Underworld, across the Styx River, and into the Abyss. But the Dark Knights make it back. And when you make it back as a Dark Knight, you are always stronger.
The majority of us are unaware that our mind and spirit die all the time, constantly shedding old beliefs and acquiring new ones. The Dark Night of the Soul is about deep and profound transformation.
It is a transition to the next level of life. Nothing is destroyed, because nothing can be destroyed – there can only be transformation. Every change happens for a reason, and the Dark Night is a passage worth traversing, even as difficult as it can be.
The October 26th New Moon is in Scorpio, ruled by Pluto, God of the Underworld, so this New Moon is about Death & Rebirth. If big changes are happening in your life, there is a reason for them. It’s not bad luck. It’s because you are the kind of person who’s psyche swims in deep rivers and you cannot ignore what is happening in your life. Focus on the great transformation that it brings.
In the Tarot of the Hermetic Tradition, almost all versions of the Death card show a symbol of resurrection or rebirth. To progress in life, our old self must die, just as a snake sheds its old skin to reveal a shiny new one. This is the message of the card: Death must be conquered by the regeneration of the soul (the psyche), and he who knows this shall return stronger and more integrated.
Our world is changing and we are dealing with issues such as transformation in the realm of relationships, death, regeneration, karma, soul mates, and intimate sexual relationships. This will also lead to transformation in the way we communicate, the way we relate to others, to ourselves, and to the world around us.
You may be going through profound changes. And as one who has been through the Dark Night of the Soul at least 3 times, I can tell you, it does get easier. Once you get through it, you will never regret the way it has changed you. This is the path of the Seeker, the path of the Warrior, and the path of the Dark Knight. When you feel the pain and discomfort of this death, just remember, you’re training to be a warrior.
THE VIRGO NEW MOON
Monday, August 22nd, 2011The New Moon in Virgo takes place on Sunday, August 28th, 2011 at 9:03pm. This is a beautiful New Moon with a grand trine in the earth signs (Virgo, Taurus, Capricorn). If you want to increase your well-being in the material and physical realm, this is a perfect time to set your intentions in order to manifest more abundance and greater health.
Jupiter, planet of joviality, luck, and expansion, increases our appreciation for this earthly existence. This appreciation can express itself in all kinds of ways, from a desire to connect with nature, to heightened sensuality, to overflowing enthusiasm for our daily work in the world.
The New Moon in Virgo allows us to be very precise and grounded. This is an important element in manifestation. Although we may want many things, wanting and wishing are not always enough to bring forth manifestation. It is important to draw the energy of vision down into the physical plane. This is done by being very specific, practical, and realistic. You can do this by creating measurable goals that can be accomplished within a defined time-frame. And remember to write them down!
The New Moon in Virgo is trining Pluto in Capricorn. Pluto expresses the energy of power. In order to empower ourselves, we must first go through an initiation and be transformed by that initiation. Because it is in the sign of Capricorn, which rules career and social standing, if you work to truly empower yourself, you will see the benefits manifest in your career and the way others perceive you.
The Mid-Heaven, which also rules career, is in Capricorn, trining Jupiter in Taurus, and Venus in Virgo. This creates a fabulous opportunity for channeling the energy of love and passion into our careers and expanding wealth and health.
Everyone can benefit from this New Moon; however, because each of us has a unique natal chart, we each feel the impact in a slightly different way. If you would like to learn more about how the New Moon will affect you personally, or other manifestation techniques, you might consider one of my workshops on these subjects or a personal reading. The Jupiter-Pluto Trine
Thursday, May 26th, 2011
There are some exciting alignments coming up in July. The most interesting is the Jupiter-Pluto trine, which is exact at 8:06am MST on July 7, 2011. It occurs six days after the New Moon Eclipse on July 1st, which means that we will have a waxing moon in Libra aspecting the Jupiter-Pluto trine on July 7th. Astrologically, this is an important time to initiate new projects that will come to fruition in the coming year.
The reason this will be such a powerful time to initiate new projects is two-fold. One is the New Moon Eclipse. New Moons are always a good time for new beginnings, but an Eclipse makes it even more powerful. Secondly, Jupiter and Pluto will trine each other 3 times in the coming year. First will be on July 7th. The second time will be on October 28th, and the third time will be on March 12th. The March 12th trine is the most powerful of the three because it is a Superior Trine, meaning that both planets will be moving forward (as opposed to the first two times when one of the planets is retrograde).
There will be a grand cross, a time that requires us to take action. The asteroid Lilith in Aries is sextiling Mars in Gemini. And the asteroid Athena in Aquarius is making an exact trine to Mars in Gemini.
Along with the Jupiter-Pluto trine, Uranus stations on the same day in Aries, making it even more powerful. Its degree is close enough (1.24 degrees) to the Pluto-Jupiter trine to have an impact. When a planet stations, there is a magnification of the expression of that planet, and its energy is greatly intensified. It is very powerful and can be very potent if it ties into your chart.
All of these aspects are occurring in the sky on the morning of July 7th and will affect everyone, but in different ways and to different degrees, depending on your natal chart.
Regardless of how it impacts you personally, it is still a fabulous time for initiating new projects. Whatever you begin during the first week of July (if anything), if you persevere, there is a good chance you will see it come to fruition in March 2012 very close to the Superior Jupiter-Pluto Trine on March 12, soon after the Full Moon.
What would you like to see come to fruition in the coming year with the help of the Jupiter-Pluto trine?
The best way to use this energy is to come up with a Wish List. Put up to 10 items on your wish list (no more than 10 as you don’t want to dilute the energy). On the morning of the New Moon Eclipse, July 1st, 2011, write your list by hand in a very special journal. The act of writing the list by hand is a ritual. If you take it seriously, it becomes a sacred act and has more power. Anytime between the New Moon and the Full Moon two weeks later is a good time to take action to initiate projects that will help your wishes become manifest; however, the very best time is on or shortly before Jupiter and Pluto make an exact trine on July 7th at 8:06am MST. If you miss the precise moment, take action as soon as possible while the transit is still active before the energy begins to fade.

Springtime of the People
Tuesday, May 24th, 2011
Recently people have been making comparisons between the European Revolutions of 1848, called the Sringtime of the People, to the current revolutionary activity occuring in the Middle East, called the Arab Spring.
As an astrologer, I became curious to see if there were any astrological similarities between 1848 and today. It turns out that there are some very significant similarities. The first most important one is that Uranus was in Aries. Uranus is the planet of revolution and Aries is the sign of the people, so when Uranus is in Aries, we are always going to see the people rising up against oppressive institutions and taking the power into their own hands.
This was true in 1848 and we’re seeing it happen again now. Uranus will stay in Aries for 8 years, so there is plenty of time to see more happen. In 1848, Pluto was also in Aries. Pluto represents power, so we saw power in the hands of the people. Currently Pluto is in Capricorn, where it was during the American and French revolutions of 1776 and 1789. Finally, Neptune was shifting from Aquarius (which rules humanitarianism, community, and technology) to Pisces (it’s natural home), which is true today.
The last time we saw Uranus in Aries was 1928 to 1935 when the stock market crashed, the world economy fell into a Great Depression, and people rallied for socialistic governments. In some countries, that led to more democracy (i.e. FDR’s New Deal programs in the US). In other places, it led to fascism. This has to do with other astrological effects that allowed Shadow effects to take hold.
Generally in the countries where changes came from the bottom up and were truly for the benefit of all people, the results were positive. In countries where power was grasped at the top and forced on the massses in order to serve a small group (concentrating wealth and power), the results were disasterous.
I think the lessons to be learned from history are that the best outcomes are derived when the people work together in community at the grassroots level to extend economic and political rights and benefits to all.
