TAROT – ASTROLOGY READINGS
This month the Sun travels through the sign of Taurus and we have a whole gob-full of alignments that can change our lives. As always, the Cosmic Curriculum challenges us to be authentic and pursue our dreams with unbending faith and persistence.
The biggest news is that Jupiter Stations Direct on May 9th; on that same day, Mercury and Mars are Retrograde. What I gather from this combo is that whatever needed to be learned, or will need to be learned during Jupiter’s tour in Virgo was set in motion when Jupiter first entered Virgo on August 11th, 2015 and began to change our lives, then turned retrograde earlier this year on January 7th, 2016, and now will Station Direct again and stay for 4 more months until September 9th, 2016. So if we didn’t get it the first time (direct), or the second time (retrograde), Jupiter will make absolutely sure we get it now. Rewards are abundantly given once those bountiful lessons are learned.
Readings include charts for both the new moon and full moon, and a tarot spread to further illuminate the message in the charts.

Pluto is the god of Death & the Underworld. And Pluto rules power, initiation, wealth, sexuality, intense emotions, deep psychology, addiction, and karma. So what happens is that when Pluto moves into a different sign, he destroys the foundation in order to rebuild. There’s a concept in Alchemy called Solve et Coagula, which means dissolve and recoagulate. So he starts by dissolving the foundations, forcing you to rebuild them, but that’s only true if the foundation is not built on integrity, if it’s weak, for example if there’s dishonesty or deception, or if you’re giving your power away or stealing others power, Pluto will make it impossible for that situation to continue. It will dissolve that weak foundation and force a rebuilding.
So when Pluto goes retrograde, you have to return to the past and correct any mistakes. It also forces things to go below the surface. So you might begin to see old self-destructive patterns and work through them. People in relationships that are unhealthy, where there’s an imbalance of power or deception, will be forced to rectify the situation. And sometimes that can be really painful. It creates situations where you can look deeply into your own psychological makeup. It will either cut the wound deeper or heal it depending on the level of consciousness of the person involved. But things will change in a way that makes it impossible to return to the status quo.
Yesterday I had Pluto opposite my Ascendant. I remember mentioning it to a friend one day when we were at Fluid. It was snowing. I mentioned that I had this major alignment coming up related to self-empowerment and I planned to get an A+. Well, the day came and went.
It was Hell. Maybe not surprising. Pluto is the ruler of the Underworld (aka Hell). Life felt so flat, dull, boring, and meaningless. I slept through most of it. Couldn’t motivate myself to do anything. Had no inspiration. Was full of insecurity, self-doubt, self-hatred.
I tried to read several different books, but they all felt meaningless. Even Tama Kieves’ book, This Time I Dance. I went for a walk in the park. That was the only part of the day that really felt good. My roommate made dinner in the evening. I called a couple of people to see how they were doing. Then I went to bed.
I now have first-hand experience of Pluto opposite the Ascendant. All the demons came to visit. It’s retrograde, so when it goes direct, it will pass my Ascendant again on November 17th. Same day as the full moon. I’ll need to prepare myself. The universe is testing me.
So this is what to expect when Pluto is opposite your natal Sun or Ascendant. I was looking for more information and found this:
“This transit challenges your self-image and sense of purpose. You may be in a funk or else itching to fight your way out of the hole you’re in — probably a little of both. Since the Sun rules the person in charge, you may be under considerable stress.” The Ascendant rules the self-image, so Pluto opposite the Sun or Ascendant has a similar effect.
I’ve got 2 months to prepare for my next Pluto opposition. So we’ll see how I do on my final exam. If you’re hit by a Pluto opposition unawares, it could really knock you over.
Anyway, a couple of thoughts came to me…. I don’t think it’s good for me to be living with my roommate. I’m stuck in a baby-daddy relationship. He cares about me and wants to be helpful, but there’s a price to pay when things are too easy. I got my bank statement yesterday and looked at it. It confirmed what I thought. I need to double my income so I can afford my own apartment. I kept hearing a little voice in my head saying, “I’m not supposed to be here.” But my mood was so apathetic, I couldn’t trust my own judgment.
This morning it was much clearer. It was telling me, “Life requires challenge in order to grow and evolve. You need to challenge yourself. You’re choosing the path of least resistance out of fear.”
It’s harder to see how fear controls my life when I’m comfortable. I understand when I’m not comfortable, but I’m misinterpreting comfortable as successful. And they are not the same thing.
Fortunately today feels very different. I want to come up with some very specific goals and time frames. One goal is to double my income by a certain date. Increase workshop enrollments. Increase traffic to my website. Increase conversion. Set deadlines for getting my books finished and published.
I’m ready to get serious about this!
Earlier this year I met a friend at Fluid. We were meeting three days a week in order to consistently work toward monetizing our websites and taking care of other business related to being self-employed. I’d recently had a tarot reading and showed him three of the cards: The World, The Chariot, and the Magician. For me, these related to the lessons I would need to learn when Pluto made an exact opposition to my ascendant three times in 2013, first on January 15th (direct), again on July 20th (retrograde), and the third and final time in my life on November 17th (direct). I told him my goal was to get an A+ on Pluto’s final exam.
When Pluto opposed my ascendant on July 20th, it was horrible. This is typical of the way Pluto works. He tears you down in order to rebuild you. In Alchemy that’s known as “solve et coagula.” If you want further description of that experience, I wrote about it here.
The reason is was so prominent in my mind this year was because Pluto takes 275 years to make one pass around the zodiac, so not everyone will have this experience of Pluto opposite the ascendant in their lifetime. I was fortunate to have the experience three times in one year!
Pluto is all about empowerment, and I do feel more empowered now. But today is the last time I will ever experience Pluto opposite my ascendant. It’s like plucking a juicy ripe fruit and I want to get every last drop.
When I think back to what was happening in my life a year ago, I remember getting a tarot reading from the Tarot Wizard at Mercury Cafe. He told me, “If you work really hard in 2013, you’ll be really successful by 2015.” I took his words to heart. I find it interesting that it coincided with the three Pluto oppositions to my ascendant which are all about empowerment.
So here I am a year later on the final Pluto opposition. It’s still early in the day, so I’m looking forward to seeing how it will all unfold. I’ll write another blog post to report on how the day went. But in general, I feel strongly that the major issues have been around self-worth, empowerment, developing my career, asking for what I need, and increasing my income. I’m a very different person today than I was a year ago. I have different expectations; I act differently. I’m stronger, more self-assured.
With 2013 nearly over, my birthday close at hand, and the New Year on its way, I’m very much in a mindset of assessing my life, where I’ve been, where I’m going. I’m setting my intention to be very successful in my career, developing it over the coming year and increasing my income.
Well, it’s time for me to get on with my busy day. I expect to get an A+ on Pluto’s final exam today!
