Moods May Swing, yet a Warrior Remains Steady

goddess_warrior_defenseJupiter is moving into conjunction with my Sun. I’d been feeling the powerful force of Jupiter’s cosmic gamma ray energy shining upon me, giving me an extra boost of confidence and adding a more gregarious expansiveness and extroversion to my personality, which I don’t normally have. I tend to be introspective and introverted, which is probably normal for a creative person like myself, yet not always helpful when it comes to the business side of things. So when I felt the force of Jupiter’s energy pouring through me, I was really enjoying it.  I felt buoyant and lively, optimistic about everything, more capable of taking risks.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that as soon as Jupiter goes retrograde, I tend to feel myself turning inward again (I have Jupiter Retrograde in my natal chart). Yet I have seen what I was capable of and didn’t want to lose all the gains I had made.

This summer, a friend made a very simple statement that turned out to be excellent advice.  He said, “An adult thinks, acts, then feels. While a child feels, acts, then thinks.” I hadn’t realized that up to that point, my actions had been dictated largely by my moods. I was in the “feel, act, think” loop.  Suddenly it became obvious that what he was describing wasn’t just how an adult behaves, but also how a warrior behaves. A warrior doesn’t indulge in moodiness.

So when Jupiter retrograde deflates my mood, I see clearly that I need to continue to act as if my mood were still upbeat. This is especially important for people who are self-employed. We can’t afford to give into moodiness if we hope to be successful.
